Marc Prensky — coiner of the term “Digital Native” – is an internationally acclaimed speaker, author, consultant and “practical visionary,” promoting civilization-level change in global education. Marc has spoken in over 40 countries, authored seven books, and published over 100 essays; his writing has been translated into 11 languages. He is currently the founder and Executive Director of the Global Future Education Foundation and Institute. Marc’s latest book, Education to Better Their World: Unleashing the Power of 21st Century Kids (Columbia TC Press, 2016), is a finalist for the 2016 Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards in Education.

Unmatched Experience & Unique Ideas
Marc has been a professional classical musician, performing at Lincoln Center on lute and classical guitar, and he has acted on Broadway in Cyrano, starring Christopher Plummer (at the Palace Theater in 1974).
Marc has also worked on Wall Street, spent six years with the prestigious Boston Consulting Group (as a corporate strategist and product development director), and been CEO of his own company for over a decade. He has designed dozens of educational games, and has worked extensively as an educational consultant.
Marc holds a B.A. from Oberlin College, cum laude, and Master’s degrees in teaching (from Yale Univeristy ), language (from Middlebury College) and business (from The Harvard Business School, with distinction.)
Marc is a native New Yorker. He currently lives in Palo Alto CA with his wife, a Japanese writer, and their son, a rising seventh-grader in the Palo Alto public schools.
